Presidio Theatre presents the Bay Area debut of one of America’s premiere flamenco companies—Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana—in the Bay Area premiere of the evening-length Fronteras Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 14, at 2 pm.
Fronteras is choreographed by two of flamenco’s most prominent artists, José Maldonado and Karen Lugo, with an original score by Jose Luis de la Paz that will be performed live.
Fronteras (“borders” in English) asks: Which is stronger: what unites us or what separates us? Despite the barriers we encounter from the moment we enter this world, it is our natural drive to push beyond these obstacles and seek deeper relationships. Like life itself, flamenco does not understand nor accept such boundaries but supersedes them. Tickets, priced $35-$65 may be purchased at www.presidiotheatre.org .
